Import your business using AI
If ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another AI assistant already knows your business, OMAI can import that information: services, FAQs, hours, policies and your business details — with a full preview before anything is saved.

Before you start
- An AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar) you already use for your business
Many business owners have already described their business at length to an AI assistant — services, prices, opening hours, common questions. Instead of retyping all of it into OMAI, the import flow lets that assistant hand the information over in one structured package. You stay in control: OMAI shows you exactly what would change, and nothing is saved until you approve it.
How it works
Step 1 Open Import using AI from the setup wizard or the Knowledge Base screen, and press Copy prompt.
You should see: The OMAI import prompt is on your clipboard.
Step 2 Paste the prompt into the AI assistant you use, and answer the questions it asks.
- The assistant first reviews what it already knows about your business, then asks only about important missing details — including your official website.
- It is instructed never to invent prices, hours, addresses or policies. Anything it cannot confirm stays empty.
Step 3 Copy the package it produces at the end — everything between
<<<OMAI_IMPORT_V1>>>and<<<END_OMAI_IMPORT>>>— and paste it into the big text box in step 2 of the import screen, then press Check information. You should see: OMAI validates the package and shows a preview. Nothing has been saved yet.
Step 4 Review the preview. Every item is marked New, No change, Different from current or Needs attention, and you can untick anything you do not want.
Step 5 Press Import to my business.
You should see: The approved items are saved, and your assistant’s knowledge updates automatically — no manual sync needed.
What OMAI never changes
- An import never deletes anything. Services, FAQs, policies or closures that exist in OMAI but are missing from the package are left untouched.
- An empty field in the package never erases a value you already saved.
- Items marked Different from current are only changed if you leave them ticked in the preview.
- Items marked Needs attention (for example, two existing services with the same name) are never imported automatically — resolve them in Settings and run the check again.
When information is missing
The AI assistant is told to ask you rather than guess, and to list anything it could not establish. The preview shows those notes, so you know exactly what to fill in later under Settings.
Your website
The package includes your official website address, and after the import your assistant can answer "what is your website?" like any other business fact. Importing the content of your website pages is not available yet; when the import completes you will see this stated on the success screen.
Importing again
Running the same package twice changes nothing — OMAI recognises it and reports that everything already matches. If your data changed since (for example you deleted a service by mistake), importing the saved package again restores the missing items.
