Your profile and password
What OMAI stores about you personally, which of it you can change yourself, how to set a new password, what that does to your other sessions, and what to do when you cannot get in.

OMAI keeps very little about you as a person: a sign-in address, a password, your name, and the language you prefer the dashboard in. There is no profile screen in the dashboard, so most of that is set once — when the account is created — and changed afterwards through the sign-in pages or by writing to us.
What your account holds
| Detail | Where it comes from | Can you change it yourself? |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | The address you signed up with, or the Google address you signed in with. Stored in lower case. | No. There is no email-change flow in the product — write to us. |
| Name | The Full name you typed on the sign-up form, or the name on your Google profile. | No. There is no screen that edits it — write to us. |
| Password | Set when you signed up with the form. An account created by Google sign-in, or added to a workspace by a teammate, starts without one. | Yes, through Forgot password? on the sign-in page. |
| Interface language | The language switch in the dashboard header or in Settings → Account & privacy. | Yes — see Language. |
| Your role | Given by an Owner or an Admin of the workspace, per workspace. | No. Ask an Owner or an Admin; see Roles and permissions. |
One consequence worth knowing: the Team screen shows a member’s name when there is one and their email address when there is not. A colleague who appears in the list as an email address simply has no name on their account yet.
Your name
Your name is what teammates see next to your entries on the Team screen and in the audit log. It is recorded at sign-up and filled in automatically the first time you sign in with Google, if it was empty. Nothing in the dashboard edits it, so if it is wrong or missing, write to us with the correct spelling and the address on the account.
Your email address
The address is your sign-in name, the destination for account email, and the key that links a Google sign-in to the right account. It is unique across OMAI, so the same address cannot open a second account. The product has no self-service way to move an account to a different address — write to us if you need one changed.
Set a new password
There is no password field inside the dashboard. Changing a password always goes through the same route as forgetting one, which means you do it from the sign-in pages rather than from your account.
Step 1 Sign out, or open the sign-in page in a private window, and choose Forgot password?
Step 2 Enter your email address and select Send reset link.
You should see: The form is replaced by: “If an eligible account exists for this address, reset instructions have been sent. Check your inbox and spam folder.” You see that same sentence whether or not an account exists — it is deliberate, so nobody can use the form to discover which addresses are registered.
Step 3 Open the message titled Reset your OMAI password and select Reset password.
- The link is valid for 30 minutes and works once. Requesting a new one invalidates the previous link.
You should see: The Choose a new password screen opens.
Step 4 Type the same new password into New password and Confirm password, then submit.
- The password must be 8 to 200 characters. There is no rule about uppercase letters, digits or symbols.
- You are not signed in automatically — go to the sign-in page and use the new password.
You should see: The screen confirms: “Your password has been reset. All other sessions were signed out. You can now sign in.”
If you cannot get in
- “Incorrect email or password.” — the usual causes are a wrong password and a typo in the address. This is also what you see when the account cannot sign in for another reason, because the message is deliberately identical in every case.
- “Too many attempts. Please wait a few minutes and try again.” — you have gone over 10 tries for one address, or 20 from one network, inside 15 minutes. Wait, then try once carefully. Repeated tries during the wait keep the window open.
- No reset email arrives. — check the spam folder first. If it is genuinely not there, the likeliest reason is that the account has no password on it: accounts created by Google sign-in, and accounts a teammate added to a workspace, are skipped by the reset flow entirely. Sign in with Continue with Google using the same address instead.
- You sign in but the dashboard shows “Something went wrong.” — the sign-in worked and the problem is on the workspace side: the workspace may be suspended, or a deletion may have been requested for it. Write to us with the address you used and roughly when you tried.
- You were removed from the workspace. — the same generic card appears, because there is no dedicated screen for it. Ask an Owner or an Admin to add you again.
If none of that applies, Sign-in problems works through the remaining causes and lists what to send us so the first reply is not a request for details.
Staying signed in, and signing out
A sign-in lasts 30 days, on the browser you used, and is not extended by activity — after 30 days you sign in again. Sign out in the top bar of the dashboard, beside the language switch, ends the session in that browser and returns you to the sign-in page. There is no list of your active sessions in the product, so a password reset is the way to end sessions on devices you no longer have.
The numbers
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Password length | 8 to 200 characters |
| Password reset link | Valid for 30 minutes, usable once |
| Email verification link | Valid for 24 hours, usable once |
| Sign-in attempts per email address | 10 in 15 minutes |
| Sign-in attempts per network address | 20 in 15 minutes |
| How long a sign-in lasts | 30 days |
Sign-up, sign-in, password reset and resend each count separately, so being throttled on one does not block the others.
Common questions
Can I change my password without signing out first?
Not from inside the dashboard — there is no password screen there. Open the sign-in page in a private window, use Forgot password?, and set the new one from the emailed link. Note that finishing the reset ends your current session too.
I signed up with Google. Can I add a password?
Not through the product. The reset form does not act on accounts that have no password, so keep using Continue with Google with the same address, and write to us if you need that changed.
Do I have to verify my email address?
You can use the dashboard without verifying, but the setup wizard checks it before it will let you finish, and human handover counts verified people. The verification link lasts 24 hours and works once; the Resend verification form on the verification screen sends a fresh one.
Can I delete my own login?
Not from the product. An Owner or Admin can remove you from a workspace, which ends your access to it, and the sign-in account itself stays. Delete your account or workspace explains the difference and what to ask for.
Where do I change the dashboard language?
In the header of the dashboard, or in Settings → Account & privacy under Interface language. The choice is yours alone and does not affect your colleagues.
